The black chickpea is a very particular legume, both for its characteristics and for its flavor.
Black chickpeas are grown and produced in the South of Italy, more specifically in Basilicata and Puglia, especially in the Murgia Barese area.

But black chickpea is mostly known for containing high amounts of iron, to the point that in the past, precisely because of this characteristic, it was particularly recommended for pregnant women and those who had just given birth.
